Neches River's
Sheffield Ferry

 

 
Sheffield Ferry provides access to the Neches River south of that is called Dam B or Town Bluff at Steinhagen Reservoir. It is just south of FM1013. It provides access to a long stretch of river that is remote and completely within the boundaries of the Big Thicket. Water is deep and wide throughout this area down to US 96 at Evadale (Approximately 50 miles). This boat ramp was once a very popular river access area and still has the early boat club watching over the ramp.

Large sandbars through this area provide excellent places to camp.
