Lake Charlotte

March 21, 2004

Christine, to the left, was kind to be our guide for the day. We entered the Trinty River just above I10 and paddled the meandering channel to the lake. It offers several side trips to other lakes and escapes some of the wind and traffic on the main lake.

The is one of the best paddling areas in SET for birds and wildlife watchers. Just a few of the many birds we saw are included on this page.

Spud and John's son take off from the landing.

Birds surrounded us in the trees.

Can you identify this friendly water snake?

John, from the Coastal Paddler, shows us his paddling technique through the cypress knees.

This little guy to the right looks like his full-sized mamma, but he is only about 24 inches.
