Martin Dies Jr. State Park

It was a holiday weekend, but the traffic on Steinhagen Lake
was not too bad. We entered the lake from the boat ramp at the Cherokee
Unit right on State Road 190. |

The dock and ramp at the park provide enough room for one
boat at a time to launched, but there is a low bank that makes it easy to
slip a kayak or canoe in the water. The lake provides an abundance of shallow
water with the passion flowers in full bloom. |

Christine caught more than a dozen fish...and they were all
not lunkers like the bass in this picture. :) |

Ray headed to the north side of Steinhagen and took the picture
