What's it all about ?

Fishing Kids Network is dedicated to providing educational activities, events, competition and networking opportunities for young people interested in sport fishing. Children not only gain knowledge about fishing, but also learn to respect wildlife and the outdoors.

FishingKids' outdoor games, competitions, fun activities, skill development and safety training programs provide youth the opportunity to develop new and better fishing skills, knowledge and abilities. These activities are supported with ongoing print, graphic, and Internet web-based resources to help young people develop a lifetime interest in the outdoors and fishing.

Your local chapter is encouraged to utilize the learning resource materials from FishingKids to develop local programs that support the needs of children in your area. Fun and entertaining educational program lead to championship events at fishing shows throughout the United States. Learning activities are divided into three levels with supporting learning resources to help you conduct meetings. You may want to divide your children into groups based on each learning level or in the case of small chapters; you can mix and match activities. These learning activities can individually stand by themselves to provide children with enriching experiences to increase children's fishing knowledge and skills or you can develop a structured progressive program for your children. There is overlap between each level and some activities will be available to children of all ages. It is hoped that chapters, however, will work with their children to participate in areas competitions and exhibits.
