  Hello, my name is Richard Bothel. My goal for this site is to provide access to a variety of informational and educational resources related to the outdoors. Its daily updates make it the place I start on the Web each morning.
     I have enjoyed nature all of my life and would like to share with you some of the information that helps me continue to find adventures in our natural world. Whether you are a nature watcher or involved with any of the vast number of outdoor recreational activities, you will hopefully find links to helpful resources here.     
      Outdoor activities around the world are fascinating, but because I live in Southeast Texas (SETX), I tend to favor the Texas outdoors. The diversity throughout the state is beyond belief. Southeast Texas contains unbelievable outdoor secrets. Many people turn their noses up at this area as it is one of the world's major petrochemical areas. Don't tell anyone, but this area has some of the most outstanding freshwater and inshore fishing in the United States. The Big Thicket National Preserve in SETX has the most biodiversity of anywhere in the world.     
     Come visit us in Southeast Texas. If you love nature, you won't be disappointed. I work with Lamar University to provide some exciting adventures in the outdoors. Paddle the bayous with one of our guides, explore the Neches River on our 45' tour boat, explore the marshes and Sabine lake for the best inshore fishing around, add to your bird count list, catch the largest largemouth bass of your life...explore nature with your family.
